Montanoa revealii was described by Harold Robinson in 1976. It is a tall tree, up to 20 m, with highly variable leaves. Its ray florets have white corollas, but its disc florets have paler yellow (to yellow-green) corollas than other Montanoa species. M. revealii has smooth brown achenes. Like some fellow Montanoa it is a polyploid, with chromosome number around 56.
